Jalapeno Deer Jerky
Ingredients
- 2 lbs deer, sliced thick
- 1⁄4 cup soy sauce
- 1⁄4 cup honey
- 1⁄4 cup maple syrup
- 6 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1⁄4 cup pickled jalapeno pepper, minced
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Rub salt into meat.
- Make marinade, add meat and place in glass container in fridge overnight.
- Preheat oven to 170 degrees F (or as low as it goes).
- Put meat on baking racks then set on the foiled oven rack to dry.
- Prop the oven door open with an oven mitt to allow moisture to escape. Leave meat in the oven for approximately 7 hours or until meat is dry.
